A Candy Box Video Tutorial for La-La Land Crafts

Hello everyone!

Back in 2019 La-La Land Crafts were having a series of Christmas Tutorials and it was welcomed by the LLLC fans. This year we have decided to stick to this new tradition. My today's tutorial will be the #6 in the series (you are welcome to find the previous tutorials from the design team, as well as the other tutorials on the LLLC blog). There will be 14 of them, by the way.

I like to include sweet treats with my gifts and cards, so a cute candy box can always come handy. If you want to try your hand at creating a similar box, join me in the craft room :)

Here is a direct link to the tutorial - https://youtu.be/maML65NtDt8

December 2020 NEW RELEASE - Day 2 + A Video Tip

Hello again!

Welcome to the DAY 2 December Release showcase from La-La Land Crafts. I have a pop-up card to share with you today, which was created using the new LLLC Twist Pop-Up Die:

I can't even tell you how easy it is now to create this kind of pop-up cards with the die! It can't be easier than this for sure!

The rest of the products that I used include:
Home For Christmas Paper Pack
Dashing Through Clear Stamp Set
Poinsettia Die
Twist Pop-Up Die ½”
Mountains Die
Ski Lift Die
Double Stitched Hills Border Die
Winter Hill Border Die
Double Stitched Rectangles Die
Scalloped Rectangles Die

I adore the little pigs from the 'Dashing Through' new set! I colored them with Copics:
Piggies' Bodies: T4, R32, YR82, R30
Noses: RV95, RV93, R00
Reds: T6, E09, E07, R17
Browns: E57, E55, E53
Greys: N7, N6, N4, N2

***I have a quick video tip to share with you as well. Seems like it is possible to use the 1/2" twist and pop-up die on projects with a spine which is narrower than 1/2". The thing to remember is that you can use it on the narrower spines, but not on the wider ones. For example, if your spine is 3/4", you have to use the twist and pop-up die which has a 3/4" square opening in the  middle.

I hope you like this card and give the new dies a try!

Have a great day!

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday - Encouragement

Hello dear readers!

It's been a long time since my previous post on the blog, but I have a good excuse! I have been busy at the annual La-La Land Craft Palooza Retreat. We usually go for 3 days to California to craft, socialize and have fun. Because of everything happening this year, the retreat was virtual, but it was not less exciting and we had a lot of fun. I taught one LIVE class and also had 3 pre-recorded tutorials which are available for the attendees in the closed FB Group of our event. If you are one of the LLLC fans, please consider joining us next time and be on the lookout for the announcements concerning the next dates of the Palooza Retreat. With that being said, let's move on to the Inspiration Monday post :)

I have a card featuring "Marci With Lemons" for our inspirational theme of the week over the La-La Land Craft blog, which is 'Encouragement'.

The papers that I used for this card are from the recently released "Asian Fusion" paper pack. There are a lot of floral and geometrical patterns in this pack too, so it can be used for lots of cards and projects that are not necessarily Asian themed too. I love this paper!

I also caught myself on a thought that creating shaker frames for my cards now is so easy with the new LLLC dies, which come in different shapes and sizes. This time I used the 'Postage Squares' Die along with the 'Double Stitched Rectangles' Die.

The lemons were a cute finishing touch here. I die cut them using the 'Lemons Lemonade' Die and covered them with the Wink of Stella, then added a bit of glitter on the leaves.

Marci was colored with Copics:
Skin: E04, E11, E00, E000 + R20
Hair + Boots: E59, E57, E55, E53
Lemons + Headband: E09, YR68, Y38, Y35, Y15, Y11
Shirt: W5, Y08, Y06, Y04
Cardigan: RV34, RV42, YG95 + W3, W1
Bowl: T5, T4, T2, T0
Pants: G19, G09, YG06, YG01

Here is the list of the LLLC products that came handy for creating my today's card:

I hope you like this card and I wish you all a creative week and a Happy Thanksgiving!!

The Bug Book and The Plant Book

Hello dear visitors!

After numerous card posts, today I want to share something different and to give credit to a great crafter and artist - Tracie Fox. Lots of people in the world of junk journalling are familiar with her Vintage Style Labels, as well as many other digital kits that Tracie has in her Etsy store.

I am not on Tracie's DT and I am not her friend, so this post is solely about sharing information and providing positive feedback about a talented crafter.

I was so inspired by Tracie's recent kits, that I printed both of them and made myself two books and a couple additional tags. The binding technique that Tracie used, was introduced first (at least to me) by Suzy Shabby Soul  and I just LOVE the look of the tabs on the book spine. If you haven't tried this binding, you should definitely give it a go. It is good and effective for smaller projects.

So here comes the 'Bug Book':

I have also made some cards for my future journals, using Tracie's 'Construction Cards' kit:

To top it off, I made some nature inspired junk journal inserts:
