"Magnolia Sky" Sliding Mini Album in a Case

Hello and great to see you here!

Many of you like the sliding mini album in a case which I created some time ago using the Graphic45 "Safari Adventure" paper. I got a lot of requests for making a tutorial on that project, so here is another version of the case, in pastel colors, with another sliding mini album inside.

I used the paper from the Ukrainian company - "Fabrika Dekoru". The collection is called "Magnolia Sky". It is available in several sizes: 6"X6, 8"X8, 12X12". For my project I used the 8X8 and the 12X12, as well as the cutting sheet and the ATC cards.

This is how everything turned out:

The tutorial for creating this suitcase and an album cover with the sliding mechanism is available for purchase for 15$. It is a video tutorial, which includes 4 parts. I am also providing the link to AliExpress where you can purchase the metal hardware for this project.

Since the structure and the embellishing of the pages depend a lot on the paper, I'm not covering in the tutorial the way of embellishing the album's pages. I have an explanation on the page construction only. There is also a video of  the album's cover  embellishing .

--------------------------------------------------------------
** The links to the video tutorial will be e-mailed to your registered PayPal address within 12 hours from the purchase **
--------------------------------------------------------------

One more thing - if you are USA based, you can get the kit for creating this project from the Photographs and Memories store. The kit includes the tutorial as well.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Let's have a look at the rest of the pictures:

Here are both of the suitcases side by side:

You can find the video overview here:

I hope you like both of the project and thanks so much for visiting.

CD Player and Case - Mini Album using Graphic 45 Cityscapes

Hello everyone!

My today's project is for the Graphic 45 Design Team, where I was given an assignment to create an easy travel themed mini album.
So... Thanks to the nature of the Cityscapes collection which I used, it is indeed a travel mini, but also a music related one because of the headphones and the design - I created a music player with a CD holder (Mini Album).

The album was created to fit into the 5” X 5” Black MixedMedia Box.
The base of the discs were cut from the Photo Mats, which came with the box.

The perfectly sized die for cutting the base of the disks was the largest from the Double Stitched Circle dies by La-La Land Crafts:
The perfectly sized die for cutting the mats of the disks out of patterned paper was the largest from the Stitched Nested Circles  by La-La Land Crafts, while the center of the disk was cut with the smallest of the Stitched Nested Circles .
To punch out the foiled disk centers I've used the circle punches of the 0.5" and 3/4" size.

The opening for taking out the disk was created on the tracing paper with the help of the Bandaid Die from the February 2016 Club Kit by La-La Land Crafts.

Here are the additional pictures of the player and the mini album:

The pictures below will give you an idea about the inside photo mats:

If you want to create a similar project by yourself, you could find useful the following measurements:

Chipboard for the album:
Covers – 4.5” X 4.5” (x2)
Spine – 4.5” x 1 3/4"

Hidden Hinge Binding for 6 pages:
4 1/8” X 8 3/4"
On the long side score at:
1.5” > 1 7/8” >2 1/4" > 2.5” > 2 7/8” > 3 1/4" > 3.5”
> 3 7/8” > 4 1/4" > 4.5” > 4 7/8” > 5 1/4" > 5.5
> 5 7/8” > 6 1/4" > 6.5 > 6 7/8” > 7 1/4"

Black cardstock for the pages:
8 7/8” X 4 1/4"
On the long side score at: 4 1/4” > 8.5”
Black cardstock for the mats:
4 X 7.5”
On the long side score at 3 3/4"

Tracing paper for the CD pockets:
4 1/8” x 4 1/8”

There is a video for creating the headphones at the bottom of this post. It is not a tutorial, but it can give you an idea about putting them together.

The list of the supplies:
Dies:
Double Stitched Circle dies by La-La Land Crafts
Stitched Nested Circles by La-La Land Crafts
Bandaid Die from the February 2016 Club Kit by La-La Land Crafts
Circles Movers and Shapers Die by Tim Holtz (for creating the headphones)
