G45 'Olde Curiosity Shoppe' Wagon + Tutorial

Hello everyone!

I'm up on the Graphic 45 blog today with the project featuring the amazing "Olde Curiosity Shoppe" Deluxe paper collection.

I wanted to create something special with it, as the papers are really special and seem to be everyone's favorite. The flying pigs are one of the characters which conquered everyone’s heart, don't you think?

I called my project an “Olde Curiosity Shoppe Wagon”. The wagon holds a 6X6 mini album. I believe that a lot of you know and can create an album of this size, whereas I will share with you how to create a wagon itself. Please refer to my video tutorial at the bottom of this post.

Here is how the wagon looks like (with the album inside of it):

The windows are shakers, as well as the framed piece with the butterflies on the side.

On the other side of the wagon I've layered and combined a few of the cut out characters and elements, and used a G45 metal key and a metal brad (to hold the key in place):

The wagon has a hinged door with a flying pig which is hiding behind it :)

When you lift the top cover, you get to see the album:

I really like how the wagon base turned out, the pulley wheels made it look special.

At the pictures below you can see the album, but as I've mentioned, I'm not covering the process of creating the album in the video tutorial.

These are the inside pages:

Now... To create the hidden hinge binding for the album you will need a 5 7/8" X 8" card stock piece, which will need to be scored as follows:
1 3/4" >> 2 1/8" >> 2.5" >>3" >> 3 3/8" >> 3 3/4" >> 4 1/8" >> 4 5/8" >> 5" >> 5.5" >> 5 7/8" >> 6 1/4".

Here is the photo of the chipboard piece in which you will cut out the window openings:

And here is the photo of the guidelines which you will draw on a piece of the designer paper, which you will use for matting the chipboard panel with the windows:

Everything is explained in details in the tutorial, the link to which is here:

I cannot give you the links to the products though, I've ordered them from different seller on AliExpress.com and the links that I had are no longer valid. You will need to try and find something similar.

  17. Hello there: I've purchased many of your kits bc they are simply incredible. Your tutorials are fun and challenging....You are wonderfully creative in all of your embellishments....I must tell you, I've lost 5 lbs since trying to make this wagon bc it is immensely fun and I can't stop to eat bc I want to continue to finish the project. Honestly, can you kindly tell me what the dimensions for the album that goes to this wagon? I must make it....I can lose another 2 lbs.....thanks so much! m

    1. Ha-ha Marissa!!! I am happy that working on this project was not only fun but also beneficial :)
The album which will fit inside the wagon needs to be 6"x6", with an about 3" wide spine.
