I'm here today with a very special for me project, which idea I have had in my head for the past week. I was very inspired once by the vintage era accordions seen at Tara's Craft Studio blog, and then not so long ago by the tag box at the blog of another crafter - Ashmita Roy.
I wanted so much to create one accordion of my own too, that I could hardly sleep figuring out what size it should be and what should be the best way of constructing it. So, finally, today I can share the result.
My accordion tag box is much smaller than Ashmita's one. Mine measures (the base) 4" x 4", has 12 pockets and correspondingly 12 tags:
This is my first try at the accordion pockets album and I totally enjoyed it. Creating it from scratch makes the whole process even more exciting. I've embellished it in the minimalistic vintage-looking style, using several of the embellies which I've recently purchased from AliExpress.
I will definitely make another accordion, taking into account several mistakes which I made while creating this one. :)
Thanks so much for looking.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Alexandra

ReplyDeleteomgosh yes! a tutorial would be great!
ReplyDeleteI really really want to make this but she hasn't published a tutorial yet. So I would love to see what you did to create it. My guess as to what to do was to create 2 boxes for the ends and then attach to the pockets. I wasn't sure about how the bottom was done but think you just added a piece to stabilize? I really would like to make one about this size for a priest who is retiring. I would need many pockets for the congregation to give him messages. WOULD LOVE YOUR TUTORIAL.
